1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how MemeDex collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the MemeDex Discord bot, website, dashboard, Premium checkout, and related services. MemeDex is an independent service and is not operated by Discord.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to run MemeDex:
- Discord account details provided through Discord OAuth or the Discord API, such as user ID, username, and avatar hash.
- Discord server details needed for bot operation, such as server ID and server name.
- Game data, including MemeCoins, roll usage, claim history, cards, wishlists, trades, cooldowns, and leaderboard stats.
- Command and interaction records, such as command names, timestamps, selected card names, and button actions.
- Dashboard session data needed to keep you logged in.
- Premium and payment status data from PayPal or Polar, such as checkout IDs, order IDs, subscription IDs, payment status, and premium expiration.
We do not intentionally collect full Discord message history. MemeDex uses slash commands, buttons, and Discord-provided interaction data to provide bot features.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate the bot, authenticate users, display the dashboard, save collections, process trades, enforce cooldowns and limits, provide Premium access, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and comply with Discord's Developer Terms and Developer Policy.
We do not use Discord API data or message content to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Payment Providers
Payments are handled by third-party providers such as PayPal and Polar. MemeDex does not store full card numbers, bank details, or PayPal login credentials. Payment providers may send MemeDex order, checkout, subscription, and payment status information so Premium can be activated or removed.
5. Service Providers
MemeDex uses trusted service providers to run the service, including Discord for bot and login functionality, Supabase for database storage, Vercel or other hosting providers for the website, and payment providers for checkout. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide MemeDex, maintain account state, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and keep Premium records accurate. Dashboard sessions expire. Some command logs, payment records, or abuse-prevention records may be kept longer when needed for security, accounting, or legal reasons.
7. Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your MemeDex user data by contacting the MemeDex owner or administrator in the Discord server where you use MemeDex. We may need your Discord user ID to locate your records. Some data may be retained if required for security, fraud prevention, payment records, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect stored data, including server-side environment secrets and service-role access for database operations. No online service is perfectly secure, so you should not share sensitive personal information through bot commands.
9. Children
MemeDex is intended for users who are allowed to use Discord under Discord's own terms. If you are not old enough to use Discord in your region, you may not use MemeDex.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy when MemeDex changes or when legal, provider, or Discord policy requirements change. The updated date at the top shows when the policy was last revised.
